RCC Background:

The name Peltz has been synonymous, with Roller Compacted Concrete for over 20 years. The Peltz Companies were founded in Alliance, NE in 1976 and they introduced ABG Titan Pavers into the United States for RCC paving in 1985. Ron was a founding member of A.G. Peltz in 1999, recognizing that the market potential for RCC was untapped.

In his career, Ron has been involved in every facet of RCC Paving including site selection, design, production, and placement. He has been responsible for over 5M yards of RCC paving since 1986, including high profile intermodal/port projects such as the BN Facility in Denver and Bayport Terminal Complex in Houston. Ron also successfully patented the “SPALLESS” RCC Pavement (joint treatment) process in 2002. 

Due to his longevity in the field, Ron has also experienced the technological changes in RCC personally. From his early days with CTB type mixes to the current high density pavers and material transfer devices, Ron is in a unique position to have experienced the changes in RCC firsthand as it transitioned from a niche product to an accepted pavement alternative for multiple applications. 

Roller Compacted Concrete Paving has its roots in the ACI. The State of the Art Report and Guide Spec for RCC Pavements are both documents that Ron helped draft in his tenure with the ACI 325 Roller Compacted Concrete Pavements Committee. He has been actively involved with the ACI for the last 20 years and has been a featured presenter and instructor for numerous seminars as well as an expert witness on RCC Pavement issues. Ron will co-chair the seminar on RCC Pavements with the PCA at the Concrete-Aggregate Expo in Las Vegas in March of 2008. 

Previous Experience:

Ron has over 35 years experience in the construction industry. Prior to co-founding the Peltz Companies with his brothers in 1976, Ron operated Peltz Brothers Inc. in 1972, specializing in curb and gutter, sidewalks, and concrete paving.

Personal: Ron has three children: Beau, who graduated from Cal Poly with a BA in graphic arts, Luke who graduated with a BS in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska and his daughter Veronica who graduated with a BS in Advertising and Marketing from Nebraska. Ron lives in La Grange, KY. He enjoys raising and racing thoroughbreds.
